GAIA Seminar on Complex Analytic Geometry - Dr. Thomas Pawlaschyk

posted Feb 28, 2016, 4:23 PM by Hyemin Shin

- TitlePolynomially convex sets in C^n

- Speaker: Dr. Thomas Pawlaschyk (Universität Wuppertal)

- Abstract: I will give a talk about polynomially convex sets in the complex Euclidean space. At first, I will give the definition of this type of convexity in the bounded case and motivate their study. Then I will present alternative characterizations of polynomially convex sets, give some examples and interesting properties.
I close my talk by introducing unbounded polynomially convex sets.

- Place: GAIA Seminar Room (#106, Math Science bldg.)

- Date: 8 p.m. - 10 p.m on Thursday, 3 March 2016
